A 10 digit serial number will use the 3rd digit as the year and the 4th and 5th digit as the week of manufacture. However, when I pinch the clutch assembly from the bottom, the drum rotates freely. The drum itself is very difficult to rotate by hand. I inspected the transmission and shaft splines - it rotates smoothly, no damage to the splines. When the agitator was removed, the bolt that holds the agitator to the shaft was very rusted - water had seeped in quite significantly. Plenty of old clothing fiber were found in the ring perimeter of the tub. When I took the case off, you can tell just how dirty it is between the outer and inner tub. Whenever you close the lid, it attempts to the cycle it's in. There's no issue with the lid switch AFAIK. ![]() This used to happen intermittently but now it has completely stopped working. ![]() ![]() For best results, please enter your model number.
